Long before skyscrapers and stadiums, the heart of Atlanta was laid with tracks and founded in 1837 as a transportation crossroads that would power the South’s growth. That bold ambition was nearly extinguished when the city was burned during the Civil War. But Atlanta rebuilt and thrived, becoming a major rail center. However, the Gulch, Atlanta’s historic core where the city was founded, shifted from a bustling hub to an underused parking area in the heart of downtown. Today, that original vision is being revived at scale through Centennial Yards, a transformative project by CIM Group poised to reestablish downtown Atlanta as a pulsing global center of gravity for culture, commerce and connection.
